The American Red Cross is the leading blood banking organization in the United States. More than 120 hospitals in North Carolina and their patients depend on the Red Cross to supply them with blood and blood products.
It is easy to donate blood. And, it is such a desperately needed product. We still can't manufacture blood. The only way to have a safe and adequate supply of blood in the hospital when it is needed is for someone just like you to volunteer to donate a pint of blood. You wouldn't hesitate to save someone's life would you? That's exactly what you do, every time you donate the "Gift of Life."

If you are at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more, and are in general good health you may donate blood every 56 days if you wish. It only takes about an hour for the entire donation process.

RECENT WEATHER HAS CAUSED CANCELATION OF
BLOOD DRIVES
Regional Supplies Running Low
Cleveland County - The supply of available blood has been impacted by recent winter weather. The Carolinas Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross is asking for blood donors to donate as soon as possible.
The need for blood donors at this time is a result of several factors. We experienced the traditional drop in blood donations during the holidays. In addition, we have seen daily collections drop because of the beginning of the flu season. This combined with the recent snow causing blood drives to cancel has impacted inventory.
The American Red Cross would appreciate any help that you can give us by encouraging your congregation, friends and family to donate this winter.
