About the Cleveland County Chapter
Together We Can Save A Li.
The Cleveland County Chapter of the American Red Cross has served the citizens of this county since 1917. The United States had just entered World War 1, and medical supplies and equipment were desperately needed in Europe. Women volunteers in Cleveland County combined efforts to meet this demand. Their dedicated efforts laid the foundation for more than eighty years of continuous service by the Red Cross to our county.
Although we are a part of the American Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross, our chapter is governed by a local Board of Directors made up of twenty six volunteers representing all sectors of our county. More than 500 caring people make up the volunteer corps of our local chapter. The Cleveland County Red Cross is a proud participant in the United Way of Cleveland County.
Mission
The Cleveland County Chapter of the American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
